Lesson Five: Counter-Curses Study Guide

Counter-curses are not Dark magic. Counter-curses reverses Dark magic. The Effect Cancelling Charm is used for spells that needs to be reversed. Spells such as jinxes, hexes, & some curses can be reversed using this spell. Only use this spell if you don't know what spell was cast, otherwise use its own counter-curses.
The Leg-Unlocking Charm
By using your willpower, you must overcome the will of the magical energy locking your legs together. Focus on unbinding your legs.
Incantation: Locomotor Liberari (LOH-kah-MOH-tor LIH-ber-ARE-ee)
Wand Movement: A cross; vertical & horizontal
Concentration:Low
Willpower: Moderate
The Tongue-Loosening Charm
Focus on the curse effects & visualize a mouth moving around to speak. By using your willpower, you must overcome the will of the magical energy tying your tongue together.
Incantation: Libera Lingua (LEE-ber-ah LEEN-gwah)
Wand Movement: A circle around mouth
Concentration: Low
Willpower: Moderate
The Fully-Body Releasing Charm
Focus on the entire body unfreezing. Your willpower must overcome the effects of the curse.
Incantation: Petrificus Removere (peh-TRIH-fih-kus reh-MOO-ver-ey)
Wand Movement: Flick up to the right & a clockwise circle
Concentration/Willpower: Moderate
