Chapter 3
Samantha Andromeda Malfoy watched Sara sing, listening keenly. She was the first Gryffindor in the Malfoy family. Her father called her a disappointment, and a disgrace to their family name. Narcissa, her mother, had just stared at her blankly, not knowing how to respond. She felt like she didn’t belong, until she met Sara Snape. Sara was always so confident, so quick to defend herself. Sam, however, was kind and loving all the time, only violent when having to be. “Nice voice.” She commented. Sara gasped, accidentally rolling off the branch she was on and falling into the cold lake. She shivered as she got out of the water. “Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry.” Sam stuttered. “It’s fine.” Sara dusted herself off, snatching the towel that Sam was giving to her. “I’m Samantha Malfoy.” She said. “Oh. Do you always go by Samantha?” Sara asked. “Yeah.” Sam said. “You should go my Sam or something.” She said.
“Oh, ok.” She smiled. “I’m Sara Snape.” Sara introduced herself. “I know. You’re the new girl who kicked my brother’s balls.” Sam giggled, and Sara laughed as well. “Yeah, that’s me.” She said. “He can be an idiot sometimes. But you two might have a lot in common.” Sam said. “Are you trying to play Cupid right now? With me? And Malfoy? No. Tha-That’s crazy! Where’d you get that idea?” She cleared her throat, blushing. “That little man is my enemy.”
“Are you afraid?” She asked Sara.
“What? Me? Afraid? Never.” She answered.
“Then flirt with him.” Sam grinned.
“I don’t flirt! I CAN’T flirt!” Sara exclaimed.
“Let me see. Pretend I’m Draco.”
“This is stupid.”
“Do it.”
Sara sighed.
“Hey Sara!” Sam mocked Draco.
“Goodbye, Malfoy!” She turned away, her face redder than a Weasley’s hair. “We have a lot of work to do.” Sam said.
