The Detention In A Marsh
Chapter 2
I unfortunately found myself in detention yet again for leaving my cauldron where an aged professor tripped over it on a regular basis and was sentenced to assisting the Care of Magical Creatures professor in locating a thestral in the forbidden forest. I lost track of my professor and soon found myself very much alone in a vast cluster of roots of the ancient trees that loomed menacingly over my head. I continued walking fearfully back towards the direction I knew to be the castle and found myself in a mash like area. Fearful I might come across a creature I didn't know how to protect myself from I started to navigate myself through the mash, my wand at the ready. I then heard a loud crack behind me I was startled and began to run. Suddenly another crack! I felt myself hit something and tripped splashing in to the mucky marsh water spitting a slug and dirty water from my mouth. Yuck! I was disgusted. The second I returned upright and began walking I heard another crack and was tripped again. This time I realized the culprit was none other than an imp. I immediately readied my wand and shouted "Verdimillious!" Green sparks shot out of my wand. I knew this would distract the imp and perhaps I would be able to get away. I was wrong another loud crack and I was tripped again this time falling on my behind and now covered with the mucky marsh water from head to toe. Angry I cried "Verdimillious" again hoping to get away the moment the imp was distracted. My hope was short lived. With another crack the imp apparated right in front of me. I had become fed up enough was enough. I reared back fuming with anger at all the embarrassment this small creature had caused me readied my wand being sure to aim straight for the loathsome creature's chest and shouted "Flipendo!!!!" The Knockback Jinx hit the dastardly creature square in the chest and it fell backward dazed and confused. I seized the moment and ran as fast as I could out of the marsh right to the castle doors where I found the elderly professor waiting. "I believe the old imp punishment still has yet to grow old. Have a good night" he said with a cheeky grin. I rolled my eyes and walked inside smelling of marsh and marched down to the dungeons for a long bath and a change of robes.
