Belle Brookes
Chapter 6
Hey guys! Most of you guys know me already, but if you don’t, my name is Belle Brookes and I have been here about as long as Lilac has (I think...) I know for sure my first ever article was in issue #108, right around Thanksgiving. I've been published in about 23 issues and have tons of articles! Way too many to count!
I was first aware of HDN when I was looking through people’s profiles when I first started. I stumbled upon Lucy Pena account. After seeing so many things about HDN after that, I owled her to see how I could join! Literally maybe 15 minutes after I messaged her, I went to the library and found a book on how to apply! I felt so stupid asking her that after I found the book! After filling out my application and waiting, I was finally accepted! After that, I was immediately accepted in a huge family that I immediately fell in love with!
P.S. Sorry Celeste Evergreen for asking you so many questions when I first started… Probably annoyed you so much!
The first article I wrote was a biography on Bellatrix Lestrange. This was a great article for me to write because it gave me an understanding of what I wanted to write about in the future. From then on, I have gone on to write many series including my “Ministry of Magic” and “House Pride” series.
As the months went on, I was bounced back and forth between different jobs, (Which was kinda hard, to be honest… I felt that I never had a set job…) Anyway, I was soon promoted to Assistant Manager and I was ecstatic!! I was put into HDN Council and to be honest I felt overwhelmed. A little fact about me, I am an insecure person and am hesitant when it comes to putting myself out there. With that, I was very overwhelmed about the whole idea of putting my ideas out there. I didn’t want to sound stupid! After maybe about a month or so Samatha or one of the council members suggested that we could make a hangout group. I thought this was amazing and told them I was on board! From there, I had become the official manager of the Toadstool Cafe! Sadly though, the group didn’t do as well as I would like it to. . . That was very disappointing for me...
The most stressful part of my career was when Samatha left. This was stressful for me for many reasons, but the main reason was that there was a lot of drama that happened between this time. I won’t go into any details, but it hurt me a lot that there was drama surrounding HDN. This time was also hard because Samatha left. I just knew from that moment that HDN would never be the same… After all, we just lost a huge part of this company.
Anyway, enough with the sad stuff! I would like to say thank you to Samantha for one, making this amazing company! I would also like to thank Lucy and Celeste for answering all my questions when I first started. I would also like to thank Lilac, Jess, and Daisy for just being amazing people! You guys are honestly like my best friends on here. The next people I would like to thank the HDN writers because we could honestly not do this without you guys! Finally, I would like to thank our amazing readers! You guys are amazing and thank you so much!
