Chapter 2
I don’t remember the specifics, but I found it while skimming through the library. I contacted Celeste Evergreen about it, filled out the form and requested to be in the group. I wrote a short story for fun (Now reading back on it, it’s horrible lol). This was on Sept. 11. I joined the day of. The first article I wrote was sorting Avengers into Hogwarts Houses. (Link: The Hogwarts Daily News, Issue #101)
It took me a full day with lots of editing, but I was (and still am!) very, very proud of this article. I’m a person who likes to know the full story, not just one side, so I pestered Celeste with so. Many. questions about HDN and I regret it so much, but she told me it didn’t bother her :). I became close friends with Celeste, and some others in the Hogwarts Daily News, including Samantha Love and Lucy Pena. I attended the 100th issue party, and it was really fun! I’ve been at he Hogwarts Daily News for about 253 days! It’s still surprising whenever I see those numbers! I helped with the yearbook for a bit, and when I got promoted to co-editor and Head Writer, I was in-person school and when I got the owl I had to stop myself from punching the air in happiness. I was only at HDN for 1-2 months but it was the most dedicated I’ve been to something after COVID. When Celeste left the HDN it was a hard blow for us all. Celeste was my closest friend, not just on HDN but on HiH in general, and probably one of the most dedicative people I’ve met in the HDN. In December, Lucy (Pena) had to go inactive because she was sick. She never came back, and only recently we found out she died from cancer :( Rest in peace Lucy, you are in all of our hearts. A bit later Samantha (Love) left, at the end of February. But the big thing was, that I was promoted to Assistant Manager a day before she left! It all was very fast, and I told Lilac about my new promotion and got added to the HDN council!

I was so excited, and heartbroken that Samantha left. I’ll wrap up soon, but the hardest thing I faced was the Golden Portkey Awards with Lilac. We had less than a month to count votes, make invitations and just in general, get this inactive project going again. Kaela (One of the managers) went inactive until this summer, and sadly, she was the head of the awards. So Lilac and I hopped on the project, sending out invitations and when the time came, (April 20th) we had an awesome time during the awards and it worked out really, really well!

That’s all I put for now, thank you for reading this and I hope you enjoy the article~! Also, please please stay safe and get the vaccine if or when you can!! ♡
