Nifflers, Ringworm & Jarveys

Chapter 8

Nifflers:




  • Are treasure-hunting creatures from Great Britain,




  • usually black in color, and have a long snout




  • four fingers on their front paws, and three on their back paws and have large brown eyes.




  • They will go for anything shiny 




  • live in burrows, called lairs, that go up to twenty feet below the surface of the ground.




  •  are diurnal, which means they are active during the day and sleep at night




  • are herbivores, eating the different plants and roots in their lair




  • will mate for life. If a mate dies, a Niffler will move on to a new mate




  • have one baby a year, because their gestation cycle is 130-190 days long




  • average lifespan of a Niffler is fifteen to twenty years




Ringworm:




  • fungal infection found in mammals.




  • found on the outer layer of hair, skin, and nails




  • needs to be treated with extreme caution




  • Proper name is; dermatophytosis or Tinea 




Jarveys:





  • Jclosely resemble overgrown ferrets.




  • Can be brown, black, or white in color




  • found throughout North America, Britain, and Ireland.




  • Classificated in beast 




  • live in burrows underground with special rooms for special feeding, mating, bathroom, and sleeping.




  • feed on rats, moles, voles, and gnomes.




  • average lifespan of seven to nine years




  • more known for their ability to talk and replicate human speech
