As the sun rises on the 3rd of May, 23 years after the Battle of Hogwarts I am constantly reminded that I was one of the few that awoke that day, that is if I ever went to sleep. There were roughly 60 lost on our side and 20 lost on the Death Eater side which feels like nothing but was actually quite substantial. Many were children, adamant that they would fight and try to at least protect the others.

I have been through a lot of torment in my life and this battle is one of the worst. In one night I lost most of the people that meant the most to me including my Uncle Severus, my Father, a well known snake friend and my best friend Fred.

It will forever be a difficult day to wake up to but I want to always remember this day, for them. I hear the birds, see a mist over the trees, still lingering and I don't want this to end.

It also reminds me that life goes on. A new day begins and we keep going.
