"What are you doing here?" I asked puzzled. "Oh I wanted to talk to you if that's okay?" He said. "Sure. Come on in." I said as I stepped back so that he could enter. We walk back and sit on the bed. "So what do you want to talk about?" I asked as I turned to face him. "Well..I uh wanted to see if you were ok. I know you said you were but.." Carson said. I sigh. Should I open up with them, I mean they are my best friends, but what if they are pretending? Like Jessica. "Yeah I guess I just I need to stop drinking so much ice smoothies" I said smiling at him and he smiled back. "So are you going to the pool with everyone?" he asked. "You know what I don't think I will. I think I'll just stay in here and draw. Are you?" I asked. "Nah" he said goofily. I smile. Carson was the joker in our group and no, not batman joker but more of the funny one that makes you laugh. I get up and grab my sketchbook from my suitcase. I grab some pencils, erasers, and a few colored pencils. I sit back down. "So whatcha gonna do since you're not going?" I asked. "Probably just watch a movie or roam the halls" "We can hang out in here if you want" "Sure" We smile at each other. Carson was good company and I didn't mind hanging out with him. "Ooh wanna watch a movie?" He asked so excited that for a second I mistook him for a little kid. "Sure why not" I said as we both got comfy on the bed and he grabbed the remote. "What do you want to watch?" He asked as he went through so many channels. "I don't know. You pick" I said as I started to sketch in my sketchbook. He finally picked a movie and calmed down. He stared at the screen like the world would end if he blinked. I looked up to see what he picked and stiffened. It reminded me of my past. There were screams and shouts. Everyone was fighting. I held my breath and my pencil fell from my grasp. It clicked as it hit the floor and Carson looked over at me. He saw my petrified face and paused the movie. "Via.. you alright?" he asked turning the TV off. "...uh.. yeah.. just not a big fan of horror movies" I said still shaking a bit. "Oh sorry. We can watch something else" he said turning the TV back on and going through the channels again. "no it's fine. i'm fine." I said even though I wasn't fine. He found the movie again and I tried to ignore the fighting and draw. I got through it surprisingly without any flashbacks. I didn't even realize what I was drawing. I spent the whole time shutting down so I wouldn't break that I didn't notice what I was drawing. I looked at it and laughed. Carson looked over at my drawing and laughed too. I drew Carson in the movie fighting in battle and saying that he wished that this was real. We laughed and laughed because we both knew that it seemed very convincing that Carson would do that. I colored it in now and he kept telling me to add more armor on him and make it gold. He was now standing on a rock posing with a red flag that had a clown face on it and had lots of golden armor. I signed it and gave it to him to keep. "I'm going to hang this up in a frame" he said as we laughed again. Then we heard the door start to open and we went silent. Jessica and Kadin walked in and we all just stared at each other. "Hey?" Carson said. "hey" Jessi said as she let go of Kadin's arm. Me and Carson just looked at each other and shrugged. Kadin looked very uncomfortable and he took a step back. "Don't worry ma'am. I shall fend these enemies with my noble steed" Carson said taking my pencil and pretending to jab at them. "Oh my hero" I said dramatically falling onto the bed laughing. Me and Carson just laugh as Jessi and Kadin just stand there so confused. I laughed so hard my ribs hurt. "So how was the pool" I ask them since they didn't get the joke. "..oh..um it was fun.." Jessi said cutting off Kadin from saying anything. "ok" I said. "Well Via I better get back to my room" Carson said. "Goodbye noble knight. 'til we meet again." I said curtising and he bowed. He flew out the door waving his hand at us before the door closed on his arm. I laughed. "Aw Carson left his drawing." I said picking up the piece of artwork. "Wow Via that's cool" Kadin said as he saw it and we smiled at each other. "I'll go give it to him. I'll be right back" I said opening the door and leaving. I walk down the hall smiling. I get to Carson's and Zac's room and knock on the door. Carson opens it and smiles at me. "Missed me already" He said chuckling. We waved at each other as I started to walk back and he closed the door. I got to my room again and opened the door quietly thinking maybe Jessi already was sleeping. I walk into the rooms with the beds and stop. My heart breaks again.
