10 Quick Tips and Tricks
Chapter 1
2. Reach out to a professor or PA with any questions.
3. Re-read any parts of the lesson you are having trouble understanding.
4. Look through the whole quiz before taking it to get a general idea of what it is testing you on.
5. Plan out your essays before writing them - if not the whole thing, at least the general topic and structure (length, amount of paragraphs, goal word count, etc.) -
6. If your assignment is returned with the possibility to retake, (either you got at 70 or below or it is just a remarkable assignment) take it again! This is more in the case if you failed the assignment (70 or below) so it doesn't affect your grade in the long run but if you want a better grade and it is available to retake it, go ahead and do so!
7. Remember to read the directions of the essay so you don't get the "easy points" off, like points for spelling, grammar, word count, topic, etc.
8. NEVER copy and paste things, copy from other people's work, or copy directly from the lesson. This will get you an un-retakeable 0.
9. Join a study group! This is so helpful, especially if you find a very active one. You can ask questions, (though make sure that you aren't copying any answers or that people are giving you the direct answers) and help other people! (Again, as long as you are helping, not giving any answers away.)
10. If you are struggling with motivation, it is helpful to make a list of all of the lessons/assignments you need to do either in the whole rest of the year or just the course you are struggling to do and tell yourself when you are going to do them. (don't load up or you will get frustrated.)
