15 things you should know about Vulcans: 1. Chocolate=alcohol: What I mean by this is Vulcans are affected by Chocolate like they would be by alcohol(though on the other hand, they are not affected by caffeine). If Saron had a piece of chocolate cake, she would be drunk within the hour. 2. “All emotions can and should be controlled/Logic above all else”: This is pretty well know but just thought I would put this in here. Vulcans have developed a belief that all emotions can and should be controlled, though originally they were a very passionate and emotional race. They have adopted Logic as their main way of life. 3. Can go two weeks without sleep and long time without food/water: This I found fairly interesting. Vulcans do not need as much sleep or nutrients as humans do, though this may vary because Saron is half-human. 4. Can live to 200 years old: Yep. That's basically it. Vulcans can live long!(and prosper) 5. Blood is copper-based and bright green: This I also found interesting. This also means that if a Vulcan blushed, it would be green instead of red. Just something to know. 6. “Do no harm, eat no meat”: Basically, most Vulcans are vegetarian and use violence as a last resort(though they are very good at hand-to-hand combat), instead using the Vulcan Nerve-pinch which renders a person unconscious for a period of time. 7. Incredible hearing: Yes. Their ears do allow them to have amazing hearing. Pretty self-explanatory. 8. Mind melds/telepathy: This is interesting. Vulcans can do what's called a mind-meld by touching someone and therefor sharing all thoughts, emotions, and memories with that person. It is a very personal thing. If a Vulcan is very skilled they can use telepathy without touching someone. Quote from a Vulcan: "Vulcans do not do casual touching, as we are touch telepaths, all touching is considered very intimate in our culture." 9. Strong stomachs: This basically means they can handle poisonous or sharp food and not be harmed by it. 10. Don’t do well in cold temp: Vulcans do not do well in cold temperatures because their planet is very hot and they are not used to cool air. 11. Can subdue physical pain using brain power: Basically they can be like "I do not feel pain!!!" and subdue their physical pain. Pretty cool, right? 12. Can breath hard-to-breath air: Their lungs, as well as their stomachs, are very strong and can handle more toxic or hard-to-breath air. 13. Faster heartbeat: Vulcans normally have a faster heart beat so do not be startled if you hear one going a million miles an hour. That is fairly normal for a Vulcan. 14. Don’t have an appendix: They just don't need one, that's all. 15. Kiss with fingers: Because Vulcans communicate through touch, not much physical contact is needed to show affection. Touching fingertips is enough to show you love someone affection.
