There was once a girl named Eliana. Her mother was terrible to her. She yelled at her all the time, and blamed her for things she didn't do. One day, Eliana's mother saw Eliana crying in her room one day, so she felt bad. Eliana's mother gave her a puppy named Bob. Eliana lit up when she saw him. There were many tears of joy, and all was forgiven. Bob stayed with Eliana always. They played together, and Eliana loved to see Bob's pointed ears perk up as he saw her come home from school. But one day, Bob wasn't acting right. He wasn't as happy as normal, and his ears were laid flat. Eliana cried for her mother, and they had to go to the hospital. The doctor inspected Bob. His frown became more apparent every passing second. "I'm sorry," he said. "We'll have to put him down. He's suffering." Eliana cried her heart out. "NO!" she screamed. "DON'T DO IT! THERE HAS TO BE AN ANTIDOTE!" The doctor shook his head. "I'm sorry, Eliana," he said. "It has to be done." Bob whined and placed his paw on Eliana's arm. She tried to smile, but her mouth was formed into everlasting sorrow. She nodded to the doctor, who took the dog to the room where they would end Bob's suffering. Eliana cried, knowing she would never see poor Bob again.
