The trio became very curious about what fluffy was guarding. When Hagrid let slip about Nicholas Flamel the three researched him up, realizing he was the most recent owner of the Sorcerer’s stone.They realized that Fluffy was guarding the Sorcerer's stone. They planned to sneak out and to protect the stone. Hermione went to research to see if there were any clues to help them out. The trio enchanted fluffy to sleep and went into the secret room. There, they fell into devils snare and Hermione used her knowledge of Herbology to prevent them from being strangled.
There were several obstacles and Ron willingly got knocked out on the first one. Harry and Hermione moved on. They both encountered a puzzle. Hermione cleverly solved the puzzle, but it allowed only Harry to move on. In the end Harry gets the stone and defeats Voldemort. The trio said their sorrow good byes. That is the end of year 1.
