James Potter was a Gryffindor during his time at Hogwarts, along with his three best friends, Peter, Remus and Sirius. He was also an animagus, changing into the form of a deer. He would play prank and helped to create the Marauder's Map, a magical map of Hogwarts. He had a huge crush on Lily and eventually they went out and got married. They had a son, Harry Potter. During the first rise of Voldemort he joined the Order of the Phoenix. There was a prophecy about his son, so he and his family made their friend, Peter, their secret keeper. Peter betrayed them and James died trying to protect Lily and Harry.
