SHORT STORY- The Manor of the Ancient Family of Rosier
It was dark. Me and Anubis had decided to raid the house, it practically oozes darkness. We had used the whole day to put down the wards of the house. We were also said that there was a scroll which held valuable information. We snuck in, there were no defenses- I was worried. Generally, in every house especially dark houses there were a number of dormant curses just waiting to be activated. "It's too easy." Anubis whispered. "I know. Now, where's my wand? Ah! Lumos" I said holding up my wand, the tip glowed and I was able to see a meter or so.
"Brilliant idea, Aqua." Anubis said as he did the same.
Suddenly there was a whooshing sound, like someone just went behind me leaving a trail of coldness and helplessness. I quickly turned my wand towards the source and, the thing vanished.
"What was that?" Anubis asked, shivering.
"I don't know, wait a sec. Verdimillious" I whispered rotating my wand in a circular motion above my head, my face tight with concentration. Anubis did that too.
Suddenly the room was flooded with green light, and I saw a huge number of Dark Objects surrounding the room, each could get us killed in the most painful ways.
Then I saw the 'thing', it was horrible- like my darkest fear just came alive. I didn't realize it but I was whimpering.
Anubis said- "It's nothing, it's just a boggart, Aqua. Riddikulus!" And, just like that the boggart went 'poof'. I heard the shuffling of feet, I pulled down Anubis in a crouching position behind a chair which we did not touch. Just in time though, because I could see the sickly green light of the Killing Curse pass overhead. A non-verbal killing curse. A voice (which I supposed was the caster's) roared, "who dares to come in the mansion of the Ancient family of Rosier? Homenum Revelio!" Dread filled me. The man came to our hiding place as we stood up. "So, a girl and a boy decides to grace me with their presence, eh?" he said chuckling darkly
Me and Anubis got into a fighting stance. He saw us and chuckled. "Fighters? Very well." he said as he took out his wand and fired curses. Anubis and I reflected or dodged them, suddenly as the fourth Killing Curse of the night passed over my head- I stood up and shouted, "Verdimillious" and slashed my wand in the forward direction pointing at the man. As soon as he stopped fighting, his face twisted in pain (because he was stung), we both yelled together- "STUPEFY!"
The man fell. As I tied the man up, Anubis whispered in elation- "there's a scroll, but the words are invisible."
I went towards the place and pointed my glowing end of the wand. Sure enough there was a parchment, I wasn't thinking straight but whispered "Aparecium" tapping my wand on the parchment. The parchment glowed purple for a bit and writing covered the scroll. We copied it because the original would be erased after five minutes.
I said, "C'mon let's go. We've got the scroll."
"Yeah, let's"
