Chapter 6
Cedric sits next to you, waiting patiently for you to speak. You finally let out a quick breath and clear your throat.
“You know how people always make the joke of how we act like a couple?” You ask.
“Yeah.”
“What would you say if I told you I wish they were...right?”
Cedric gives you a puzzled look. “I’m not sure I understand what you’re saying, y/n.”
“I...I love you, Cedric.”
Cedric’s eyes widen and he opens his mouth to reply, but you continue on.
“I mean, you’ve been there for me since day one. You’ve never put me down or made me feel like a loser for being so sensitive. You’re so kind, Ced. And humble. You know the difference between right and wrong, and you don’t ever compromise your values. You would do anything for others, including me. I just-I don’t know how I expected myself to not fall for you. I...” you stop, looking down at the couch cushion. You’re absolutely sure this is the end of your friendship. Why on earth would a guy like Cedric fall for a girl who can’t even be in a room of numerous people without panicking?
“Y/n...” Cedric takes your hand, kind of forcing you to look up. Tears are slowly flowing from his eyes, but the biggest smile you’ve ever seen is spread across his face. He clears his throat and starts to speak again.
“Y/n, you don’t know how much what you just said means to me. I’ve been trying to gather the nerve for weeks to tell you how I really feel. I’ve fancied you since second year and this year you just made me fall for you even more! I love everything about you, y/n. You mean the world to me.”
“W-wait, so...you love me back?”
Cedric laughs lightly. “Yes, y/n, I do. Now, would you care to make it official by allowing me to call you my girlfriend?”
“Of course I will, silly!”
Cedric laughs again and wipes your tears. “That’s my girl,” he says softly.
