Chapter 15
Arthur Weasley
(We know that Arthur's birthday isn't this week, but we just didn't have the heart to throw away this article and forget about him so we hope you enjoy :)
Arthur Weasley, born February 6, 1950, is a British pure-blood wizard. He was born to Septimus Weasley, the youngest of seven children, and Cedrella Black, and had two brothers. His mother was soon burnt from the Black family tapestry for marrying his father, and Arthur was always hatred by the Black family because of his parents being blood-traitors. Just like all the Weasley family, he was sorted into Gryffindor when he went to Hogwarts from 1961 to 1968. There, he met Molly Prewett, a fellow Gryffindor, who he ended up marrying and having seven children with: Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, Ron and Ginny.
Arthur Weasley is a fair and kind man (and a bit clumsy!), and I’m writing this in his honor as it was his birthday a couple of weeks ago. Arthur didn’t have any prejudices for Muggles: in fact, he loved everything about Muggle objects and lifestyle, and was determined to know more about them when he first met the famous Harry Potter. Who would have known that this young, special boy would become more than his son’s best friend?
In some moment between 1969 and 1982, Arthur got a job at the Ministry of Magic, in the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office. In the 1995-1996 school year, he was promoted to Head of the Office for the Detection and Confiscation of Counterfeit Defensive Spells and Protective Objects (such a long name!). That same year, he got poisoned by Nagini, and survived thanks to Harry Potter. Despite his social position, Arthur was a fine wizard who excelled at Charm-work: he once made his Ford Anglia fly and turn invisible. It was also demonstrated that he was a complicated duelling rival against his long-life opponent, Lucius Malfoy. He also was good at Transfigurations and Apparition, and could perform non-verbal magic, as demonstrated when performing an Occulus Reparo charm to Harry Potter’s broken glasses in Harry’s second school year. He even had Muggle mechanical and legal skills, which makes him a fairly complete individual! This article is my birthday present for his 70th birthday. Happy Birthday Arthur!
