Chapter 4

Bowtruckles are classified as XX & can be preoccupied by food in order to escape them & are omnivores. They like to eat woodlice & woodlice has more than five thousand types. Bowtruckles will eat aphids or leaves when woodlice is scarce. They will bargain more for fairy eggs, which is kept on the underside of a leaf for protection. If you give a bowtruckle twenty to thirty eggs, they can be drawed away for twenty minutes.

Bowtruckles can live for fifty years, but rarely they can live for four hundred years. Bowtruckles help to discover the best wood for wand making. If their home tree gets tree fungus, they will flee to a new tree. In under forty-eight hours, a bowtruckle can die from from a fungal disease. When a bowtruckle has the fungus, their fingers go purple, then body, & then their head. The Whomping Willow does not have bowtruckles.
