Logan is the most recent of our animals that we have come into contact with I wasn’t over impressed when Charlie said to me that a Porlock has been hit by a Muggle car in Dorset. Its hoofs were scuffed and it had marks all the way up its body.

I was even less impressed when he asked if the horse-like creature could live in the house.

The Porlock is a horse guardian found in Dorset, England, and in Southern Ireland. Covered in shaggy fur, it has a large quantity of rough hair on its head and an exceptionally large nose. It walks on two cloven feet. The arms are small and end in four stubby fingers.

Fully grown Porlocks are around two feet high and feed on grass.

The Porlock is shy and lives to guard horses. (something that are found in abundance in the New Forest) It may by found in the straw of stables or else sheltering in the midst of the herd it protects. Porlocks are deeply mistrustful of humans and always hide at their approach. How this one came into contact with a car is beyond belief.

Just getting it to trust us has been a great task but Charlie has taken it upon himself and has named the creature Logan.
