Chapter 11
Regina’s birthday
You already know Regina Darlyn, the girl, that heard Neville, trying to stop his only friends from sneaking out. Well, her first year of Hogwarts was over and so was the second. Regina was -still- a very shy girl, she didn't have much friends … No one really knew about her.
Now, let me tell you a bit more about her. Regina is a half-blood wizard, her father being a muggle and her mother being a witch. She was really happy when she received her Hogwarts letter, knowing that she could learn a lot about magic. After her mother described her the four houses, she was absolutely sure, that she's going to be a Hufflepuff, due to her kindness and loyalty. She came to Hogwarts, not knowing anybody, but she was optimistic. At the Sorting ceremony, the Sorting Hat wasn't sure where to put her, her story was kind of similar to Neville's. She asked the hat to put her in Hufflepuff, but he insisted on putting her into Gryffindor. Still, she was very happy. Weeks went on and Regina loved Hogwarts. She quickly became friends with a girl called Meryl and they were inseparable. Her favourite class were Charms, she was very good at doing spells.
After two years, the »Golden trio« was already pretty famous. Regina still had a little crush on Ron Weasley, but she never spoked to him. Her and Meryl wanted to do something crazy, break the rules, but they were too scared, so they just dreamed about being famous.
Well, the third year of Hogwarts came and Regina was so happy to finally turn fourteen. She thought that this will change everything. I don't know why, I remember that it didn't change anything when I turned fourteen, but whatever. She knew that her parents will throw a big party for her, but she didn't have much friends, as I said, so she knew that the visitors will be mostly relatives. Her birthday was getting closer and finally, it was there. She woke up to Meryl, singing her Happy birthday, handing her a gift- a beautiful dress. The day went on and the evening came.
“Regina!” said Meryl “Come here, I need to show you something!” she was in the common room, while Regina was in the room, trying on the new dress. “What is it?” she said curiously. “You'll see! Come on!” Meryl shouted. “Okay, okay, I'm coming…” Regina came downstairs and almost shouted of happiness. The common room was full of balloons, confetti, everyone from Gryffindor (including Ron, Harry and Hermione) were there, smiling. “Happy birthday, Regina!” they yelled and the party started. There was music, food, everyone was having an amazing time. “How did you manage to do that?” Regina asked Meryl, while they were dancing. “Well, I asked McGonnagal and she agreed” she said grabbing a Drooble's best blowing gum. Regina was so happy, this party was the last thing she expected.
But that wasn't the best thing of the night. After they ate the cake, the most amazing thing happened. Ron Weasley stepped to Regina and said: “Hi Regina, happy birthday! I love the party, the food's awesome” Regina couldn't believe her eyes. Ron talked to her!! She was so happy she could barely talk. “T..thanks” she said finally and that was all, she couldn't even move.
So, that's the story of how Regina celebrated her fourteenth birthday. She never forgot that and she couldn't stop thinking about Ron's words. Maybe we'll become friends, she thought.
