St. Patrick
Chapter 1
St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland.
Some interesting facts:
-Today is the day he died. Yes, we celebrate his death day.
-He was actually born in Britain
-His father was a deacon.
-At the age of 16, he was kidnapped and taken to Ireland.
-He was a shepherd during his captivity
-St. Patrick had visions of angels telling him to begin a missionary in Ireland.
-St. Patrick used the three leafed clover to symbolize the Trinity, one section of the clover for each part, all separate but together.
-Even though he is called a saint, he was never formally canonized in the Catholic Church, simply because of the era he lived in.
