Chapter 8
Pomona Sprout
Pomona Sprout is a Half/Pure-blood witch. She worked as head of the Hufflepuff house and head of the Herbology Department. She fought bravely against Lord Voldemort during the battle of Hogwarts. One of her biggest accomplishments was in 1993 where she growed the Mandrakes to save the students that were petrified by the basilisk. Professor Sprout knew Cedric Diggory very well. She told Barty Crouch Jr. (Disguised as Moody) the talent Neville Longbottom had in Herbology. This made Crouch end up giving Neville a book that would later help Harry Potter in the three wizards tournament. During Harry's fifth school year she was disliked by Dolores Umbridge, like most of the staff. We know that Harry took Herbology in his sixth school year and it was teached by professor Sprout.
Sprout has shown to be a very Kind, loyal and Caring Professor. She represents the Hufflepuff house in a very positive way. She encouraged Neville when no one else did. She was the most caring Head of the houses, then she calmed the students after the battle of the Astronomy tower. She was also very brave, during the battle of Hogwarts she followed McGonagall’s orders without doubting it.
After the battle of Hogwarts she continued to work at Hogwarts. She retired to let Neville Longbottom take the place as the herbology professor.
