Chapter 1
So what can I tell you about Shell Cottage?
Very little probably that you don’t already know. Things like the fact that it was, is owned by the Weasley family that Bill and Fleur live there. That it used to belong to one of their Aunts and she then left it to them. Its walls are lined with shells and no matter how much you try not to you can always hear the waves crash against the rocks. It’s in a place called Tinworth in Cornwall.
Not only is it by the sea it is right on the shoreline I think that muggle families may have used it in days gone by due to its location next to the sea. Many Muggle Smugglers used to use such places and magical people use them as safehouses, protected by the Fidelius Charm.
The whole of the Weasley family used to come when they were young and Charlie tells me that he and Bill used to go there when they were young children in the 1980s.
The first time I ever went there was in 1999. It was after the second wizarding war and I was alone. I was alone with the fact that my uncle was dead and it was my fault. My father was dead and it was my fault. Everything carried on with the premise that it was my fault.
Part of this was shock that a Battle had happened. Shock that so many people had died and Shock that my family was to blame. I felt like it all the time. But Fleur Weasley took me in. She and Bill cared for me at the cottage. I have been to Shell Cottage many times over the years since then. We have had many family gatherings at Shell Cottage but when I think about it I think most about Bill and Fleur, Victoire, Dominique and Louis. And was front and centre of it all.
