Biography of Frank Bryce
Frank Bryce (August 1971 - August 16, 1994) was a war veteran, Muggle, gardener, and one of the many victims of Voldemort.
He was born in August, 1971, to an unknown family in Little Hangleton. As a child, he was thought of as short tempered according to some of the villagers he grew up with. In 1939, World War II began, and at 22, Frank was called into military service. He fought well, but when he was 25 he injured his leg badly, making him incapable of fighting. He returned to his hometown after the war, possibly with PTSD, and a great dislike of crowds and loud noises. Despite his injury, which was still stiff, he started working for the rich, elderly Tom Riddle and his family as a caretaker and gardener. In 1943, Voldemort (Tom Marvolo Riddle at the time) murdered his father and family. Frank had seen him walking up to the house at night, but that information didn't help him when he was arrested as the main suspect of the murder. He was eventually released due to lack of evidence, but he wasn't trusted. He remained on Riddle's grounds afterwards, disconnected from the rest of the world. Young boys would often vandalize the house, and Frank would try to catch them unsuccessfully because of his hurt leg. So, when he saw a light in the house on August 16,1994, that's who he expected when he went to investigate.
Instead, he was met with Wormtail and Voldemort discussing taking Harry Potter's life. Frank heard them speak of a woman's death and an attack on a young boy, and decided to tell the police, but Nagini stopped him, alerting Voldemort who eventually struck him with the Killing Curse. Frank was almost 77. All this was seen by the famous Harry Potter in a dream, and when the Priori Incantatem occured during Harry's duel with Voldemort, Frank appeared for the last time as an echo to encourage Harry and help him escape.
