Chapter 4
Carry woke up to the sound of screaming and stomps coming up the stairs. Kevin opened the door with hatred in his eyes.
“Oh, so now you're up!” He said, slamming the door behind him.
“Uh, yeah, sorry,” Carry said, standing up. He messed with hair for a little bit. “I should probably go, I’ve overstayed my welcome,”
“Yeah, you should just leave,” Kevin said, sitting down on his bed and opening his laptop. Carry rushed out of his room, wondering what had happened while he was asleep. He walked downstairs and stopped. The feeling in the air was not a good one. Mrs. Decro was sitting at the kitchen table yelling her head off at her husband. It reminded him of when his parents used to fight.
“What did we do?!” Mrs. Decro said.
“We? You made him like that by taking him to Jim and Jerry’s house all the time!!” Mr. Decro yelled.
Mrs. Decro looked up. “Oh. hi Carry, don’t mind us,”
Carry gulped, he walked as fast as he could across the room and walked out of the house. As he closed the door he heard the yelling resume. He ran all the way home.
When he got home he texted Kevin to make sure he was ok. In fact he was not ok. Kevin had told his parents something, he didn’t clarify, and they got all mad at him. He told Carry that he wished he hadn’t said anything at all.
‘Well what did you tell them?’ Carry texted. Kevin didn’t respond. Instead he got a call from him.
“Kevin?” Carry asked, after answering.
No answer.
“Kevin?!” Carry asked once more.
The question was answered by sobbing.
“I told them….something that I-I’ve been wanting to tell them for awhile,” Kevin said.
“And they didn’t like it?” Carry asked.
“Exactly,”
“Can you tell me what you told them? I’m sure I would like it,” Carry said, getting some ideas in his head.
“No, it’s my secret, not yours,” Kevin said, starting to sob again. He hung up.
“Well that was strange,” Carry said. He went downstairs, said hello to his mom, and went to get a snack. ‘Shoot’ He thought, they were out of crackers. He wasn’t that hungry anyway. He walked into the living room and turned on the TV. His favorite show, Stranger Things had a new episode and he really wanted to watch it.
He sat down on the couch, got the remotes, turned the t.v on and pulled up Netflix.

After finishing the last episode of the first season and crying his eyes out, Carry got up and decided that he was going to write. He had started a writing project in April and it was on its 23rd chapter already. Carry ran upstairs and sat at his desk. He opened his computer and got the tab opened.
‘As the night sky glistened, Alex looked out her window, wishing that everything was normal, wishing that she would be like everyone else. Milo hopped up next to her and brushed up against her.
“Oh Milo, I’m glad one creature in this world appreciates me,” Alex said.’
At that Carry stopped writing and looked out his window. He sighed. Carry closed his computer, and went to lay down. He moved junk off of his bed and found a book.
‘The Childhood of Carry Drinnins’ the title said.
Carry opened up the book and scanned the pages. There were pictures of him as a baby, pictures of his pets through the years, and lots of pictures of him and Kevin. Carry looked fondly at these photos. There was one he had not seen before. It was him and Kevin at school. Carry had a blue sweater and Kevin had a plaid shirt. Carry took the picture from the book and placed it upon his wall. He laid down on his bed and looked at the ceiling.
