Chapter 1
A young girl ran faster than she had ever ran before. It was pouring rain, at least 20 degrees and all the girl had on were gloves. She didn’t know what she was running from, all she knew was she needed to get home as soon as she could. She looked behind her, nothing, just black, cold space. She stopped running to catch her breath. Footsteps. Behind her. She started to run again.
“Lucy, come back and play, it’s not too cold,” The thing behind her said. Lucy kept running, she wanted nothing to do with whoever or whatever was chasing her. She felt the cold wrap itself around her. She could barely feel her fingers, even with the gloves on.
She turned around the bend into Bleecker street, her house was the 2nd on the left. If only she could run a little faster, she could make it. Just then her shoe caught a branch that had been knocked down, probably by the storm. Her head hit the pavement hard. She tried to get up but couldn’t. She felt blood coming from her forehead down to her nose. She looked behind her. A figure stood in front of her.
“I’m not who you’re looking for,” She said in a high pitched voice, her blonde hair now soaked with blood. The figure said to her, “You’re the exact person I’m looking for”.
