Chapter 1
Arabella Warbeck started to pack her bags. In exactly three days, she would go to Hogwarts. Her father, Jacob, told her all about Hogwarts. It’s twisting halls, the strange teachers, and the warm dorms.
Months before on July 24, Arabella was cleaning the counter. Her mother, a muggle, was prepping the guest bedroom, and her husband was reading the Wizard newspaper. It was nearly evening when a rattle came from the front door.
“I’ll get it,” Arabella’s little brother shouted. He was a short boy with tanned skin, green eyes, and a blond comb-over. He opened the door, letting in the soft breeze of summer drift in. he danced over to his father giving him the one letter.
Jacob looked up from his reading and rubbed his whitish, brownish beard, “What do we have here, Jone?” He said tickling his son. “ Addressed to my own… Arabella! You’re going to Hogwarts!” He leaped out of his loveseat, spilling his tea on the way, and gave the letter to Arabella.
Arabella opened the letter in haste, as her mother joined them in the kitchen. The letter read:

That day changed Arabella’s life forever, and she is now packing for the greatest thing ever. She finished by carefully placing her wand ontop of her socks. She latched the case and lugged it down the stairs into the living room. Once again, her father sat in his chair reading the newspaper, while her mother was baking cookies for school.
“A little reminder of home will never hurt anyone. You can always send a letter for more if you wish,” Marian Warbeck told Arabella. She had short brown hair, green eyes, and olive skin. Her apron was covered in flour and love.
“Thanks, Mom,” Arabella said, hugging her tight. “I will always need you and dad to send me something! I’ll owl you every Saturday.”
“That’s right, it is called owling… Sorry, honey. Ah, don’t forget to tell us about your friends too.” Mother said. She scooped the cookie dough onto the pan and separated it.
Arabella left her mother to baking and took a walk. Arabella felt like visiting her best friend, Rose Mayflower. Rose was a young girl with silver hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. She had four older stepbrothers and only a mother.
Arabella arrived at Rose’s house. From the outside, her house looks nice and traditional. It has been built with white pine wood and has grey brick decorations. Small, rectangular windows add to the overall style of the house and have been added to their house in a very asymmetric way. The house itself is surrounded by a tranquil garden, with various flowers, a long pond including a small waterfall, and various rock formations. Arabella walked up the steps and rapped on the door.
“Clark! Please get the door!” Mrs. Mayflower could be heard from inside the house. Clark was the same age as Rose. He had brown hair, grey eyes, and tanned skin. He opened the door, and his face was strangled with surprise.
“Ahh,” He said rubbing his neck.
“Is Rose here, Clark? I would like to say goodbye to her,” Arabella said, smiling with her whole heart.
“Ya, she’s… She’s in her room,” Clark said quickly. He opened the door wider to let Arabella inside. Arabella climbed the stairs and knocked onto her BFF’s room.
As she did, Arabella heard crashing sounds within, and winced, “Rose? Is everything alright? Can I come in?” Without an answer, she swung the door open. The once beautiful pink room was a disaster. All the flower vases were on the floor shattered, papers everywhere, and poor Rose was huddled in the middle.
“Arabella! Help me… Zane’s cat went berserk,” Rose explained. She stepped over the glass and hugged her friend. “But, you are going away, and I can deal with this later.” Rose ushered Arabella out of the room.
Thirty minutes later, Rose and Arabella were laughing about lilies. Arabella checked her watch, and immediately stopped laughing, “Sorry Rose… I’ve got to go home. I’ll see you at Christmas.” She gave her a departing hug and walked down the hall. As Arabella reached the front door, Clark came in stopping her.
“Wait. Here have this poppy. I was going to give it to Rose, but I thought you would like it better…” There goes Clark being awkward again.
The little present touched Arabella’s heart, she said, “Thank you, Clark. That was very kind of you.”
