Why are positive affirmations important? A positive affirmation is a statement that if repeated can help you overcome self-sabotaging and negative thoughts. You may think that affirmations are unrealistic or “wishful thinking”, when in reality, positive affirmations can improve our physical health and our mental health. According to some researchers, spending a few minutes a day thinking about your best qualities can calm your nerves, increase your confidence, and improve your chances of a successful outcome. Saying positive affirmations can also boost your problem-solving abilities of those who are "chronically stressed", to the same level as those with low stress.
