This is the birth date of noted magi zoologist Newt Scamander. He was the author of fantastic beasts and where to find them and conducted fantastic research into the field. During his time at Hogwarts he was sorted into Hufflepuff house.

He became very good friends with Albus Dumbledore. His brother is Theseus Scamander and his grandson Rolf Scamander is now married to Luna Lovegood. (we like to think that we had some influence on that). He married Porpentina Goldstein.

He became a ministry employee but never really enjoyed it. He was expelled from Hogwarts before finishing and became friends with Credence Barebone an obscurus who possibly had a connection to Albus Dumbledore. My uncle used to say that I would have made a very good obscurus, however, I had control over much of my powers and developed into a transfigurist instead.

Most people are afraid of obscurus magic, believing it to be dark repressed magic but it is far from that. Which I shall attempt to explain later on. But for now at least understand that an obscurial has energy that is uncontrolled. Controlling this energy is a skill and one that must be mastered.
