Rowena Ravenclaw
Rowena Ravenclaw has perhaps the most interesting, though tragic, backstory of all the Hogwarts Founders. Born in Scotland in the 10th Century, she was from the glens. Rowena, as well as her friends Helga Hufflepuff, Salazar Slytherin, and Godric Gryffindor established Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Rowena Ravenclaw founded Ravenclaw House, one of 4 at Hogwarts. Rowena chose students of intelligence and wit to join her House. Eventually, Rowena’s daughter, Helena, grew jealous of Rowena’s wisdom and desired it for herself. Helena stole her mother’s diadem which enhanced the wearer’s intellect, and ran away with it. Soon after, Rowena fell deathly ill.
