Ella is a foster child. On her 14th birthday, she comes home with her new friends Dana and Lidiya to find the house thrashed and her guardian gone. A half-burned note and a treasure map lead the friends to an island, where they truly discover themselves.

Well now there's a bomb.
Chapter 2
Ella hurried home. Her caramel hair streamed behind her as she rushed down Acorn Ln. "Wait up!" Dana called, she and Lidiya were close behind.
"I have a bad feeling!" Ella responded. She wrenched open Mr. Beesly's house to find everything in disarray.
And no Mr. Beesly.
Lidiya noticed a paper in the fire and wrenched it out, hurriedly putting out the flames and destroying half the note. "Argh!" she said, looking at the fragments that remained.
"What does it say?" Ella asked.
Lidiya placed it on the table. Most of it was burned, but the rest was readable.

"Ink Berries?" Dana asked.
"I think he might have meant pink berries," Ella said. She set the note down she looked around... And noticed a rolled-up piece of paper in the trash can! She grabbed it. It looked like map.
"Pack your bags if you want to help," Ella said. "This looks pretty far away."
