Chapter 3
My life is a series of repeating sounds
voices. Stuttering. And senseless. Perfect-less. And pretending.
Pointless. I roll them over teeth. And tongue. And struggle
to get them out and understood. I am stopping. And starting.
Repeating. Repeating. The sounds I can't speak that pause in
my mouth. Foil me. Frustrate me. I speak with.
A stop.
And start.
And stutter.
Ceaselessly.
Lips parting. Teasing. Caught in my mouth like a stone. A gasp.
Twisting. And Turning my words.
Like yours are water and mine are ice.
My voice and words, wriggle and writhe and worm away.
Stop. Start. Stop.
