It comes in the form of a cup of tea

hot and steaming and bitter sweetened with milk and sugar.

Long nights in front of my laptop screen

quietly talking to you, miles away with the light on my screen reflecting in my eyes.

Dark nights, typing away on my phone when everyone else sleeps

your words making me smile and giggle and blush.

I have never felt this way before. My heart skips a beat

waking up at 7am. Six missed messages all read 

'I love you' in different forms. Your name on my lips.

It has been a year. 

My parents don't know. Won't know. I wake up with you on my mind

and fall asleep with you in my head. In my bed. It is not

a drug, or a poison. But you are addictive and I cannot get enough

of your words and your voice in my ears. 

I want your lips on mine, not through screen and video cameras

and low quality selfies in the dark. 

You are mine but we are far apart.

Today I am not content with being alone like this. I want you

Arms around me, whispers in my ear, I miss you.

We have never touched. 

People question and I cannot explain 

the deep rooted trust I have for you. It does not fade 

with time or distance. I crave you. I need you.

It brings tears to my eyes, I cannot forget you. They forget ours is no tradition.

No cliche romance story, girl meets boy (girl meets girl).

I can wait. One year. Two years. Three years. 

I dream of days that I can fly to you on a plane, 

to run fingers through your hair.

When I have money enough to meet you in person, all the words I will

say to you.

I am in love with you. Do not forget it. Do not let us grow apart.
