Luna attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1992 and was sorted into Ravenclaw House. One year behind the famous Harry Potter, and in the same year as Ginny, she noticed Thestrals on her very first day of school, 1st September. She didn't have any friends because everyone thought she was so odd, and she sometimes admitted to being lonely-people called her Loony Lovegood- although she was liked by the Ravenclaw house ghost, Helena Ravenclaw. She eventually made friends with Harry Potter and his friends In her 4th year at Hogwarts, starting from the moment she told him he was just as sane as she was. She also accompanied him to the Department of Mysteries and they became good friends, not to mention the fact that she was invited by him to Slughorn's party, surprising everyone.
