Gilderoy Lockhart was said to be a talented wizard, although that point is debatable, born on the 26th January 1964. Making him only four years younger than my Uncle Severus. His is the inventor of “Occamy egg yolk shampoo” and publishers of books such as “Brandishing with Banshees” and “Magical Me”.

He was a half-blood, born to a muggle father and a witch mother. His achievements seemed heightened in light of the fact that he had two older sister and both were squibs. Being the only magical child, this must have boosted his ego and allowed for magic to spread.

He attended Hogwarts between the years of 1975-1982 and was sorted into the house of Ravenclaw. It is reported that he was almost sorted into Slytherin, however narrowly escaped. I would say that he certainly brings out the worst Ravenclaw qualities. He went on to teach at Hogwarts as Defence against the Dark Arts Professor.

He is now in St Mungo’s Hospital as a long term patient and probably won’t understand that it is his Birth-day today. I still want him to remember that we are thinking about him and many of us do on a regular basis.
