My Far Away Land

There is a far away land
hidden deep within my heart,
where the winters are white
and the summers shine bright,
from where I never want to part.

There is a far away land
to which half of my soul belongs,
where the meadows are ever green
and the mossy forest soft and clean,
where creeks play their vibrant songs.

There is a far away land
I never truly leave behind,
where every visit is a return home
protected under my family's dome,
where love is simple and forever kind.

There is a far away land,
and yet it feels like it's right here,
in my every move and my every thought,
in all I ever learnt and was ever taught,
so distant, yes, but oh so near!
