Joann ran into the classroom, her book-bag dragging behind her, a white tissue clasped in her right hand and a book under her arm. The bell rang as she ran into the  classroom. Her day had started off bad and was getting worse as a cold began to develop in her head. 

"Welcome to the class Miss Wilson." Said Professor Quilmane as Joann made her way to her saved seat next to Karla.

"I'm sorry Professor Quilmane. I have seemed to lose my since of promptness when my head began getting bogged up by his cold." she said as she placed her book bag on the table with a loud clunk.

"As I was saying, Today we are going to cover wand movements more in depth, magical limitation and at the end we are going to be covering two different charms. The mending charm and the Unlocking charm."

Joann's head felt like it was going to explode as she listened to Professor Quilmane lecture. 

"...master summoning and cleaning charms, a tailor the Severing Charm. Miss Wilson, what kind of charm might a cook need to be fluent at?"

"What!?" Joann's head popped up from the desk, her head spinning with the sudden movement. "I'm sorry professor I think I need to go to the Hospital wing." She said as she blew her nose into her white tissue clasped in her hand.

"Yes. That seems like a good idea Miss Wilson." He said as she picked up her bags and made her way out of the classroom.

After a Pepper-Up potion and a few hours of rest Joann felt like a new person. He cold lessened to a mear sniffle. She was excused to go to her common room but made her way to the Charms classroom first.

Professor Quilmane was sitting at his desk grading papers. "Aw. Miss Wilson, feeling better I hope."

"Oh yes sir. Much better. I was wondering did we have homework by chance? I missed so much of the class today." she said placing her book-bag down onto the floor.

Professor Quilmane grabbed a piece of parchment off his deak and handed it to her "Practice your Mending charm and the Unlocking charm, and complete this worksheet before next class please. I'm sure you missed nothing during class as you seem to have read the entire Quintessential Magic: An Introduction to Charms book already." He smile and continued to work on his papers.

"Thank you Sir!" She said and raced out of the classroom and up to the commonroom.

She sat in front of the fire and began practicing her mending spell on a pair of "holey" socks. On the third try the holes mended, not if only she could learn a cleaning charm she thought to herself. Tomorrow she would try the unlocking spell on a locked door. The Prefects Bathroom had always interested her, maybe she could get in there with the new charm.
