Chapter 9
H is for:

HAG: To different people the word Hag has various connotations. Most understand it it be an ugly woman that has no sense of magic or passion. Now, whereas this can be true, I have to say that I have never seen Hags in this way. I was always told that Hags were women that were down on their luck and we should treat them as such. The so-called hag of Knockturn Alley was a kind and gentle woman. She always had time for me. She knew I had lost my mother and father, I think she was the only one to know who I really was, and when things started to turn bad she would warn me.

HAGRID: Rubeus Hagrid, Gryffindor and expelled because of my father. He wasn't in the same year but close in age. I was always amazed that he never thought badly of me and never blamed me for my father's misdoings. He is part giant and part wizard and worked as game keeper/keeper of the keys until he became Professor of Care of magical creatures.

HALF-BLOOD PRINCE: The name that my Uncle Severus named himself whilst at Hogwarts.

HALLOWS: To be more precise they are the Deathly Hallows, issued to the Peverell brothers by Death. As a descendant of one of the brothers I am the owner of one of them.

HARRY POTTER: The star of the books and films. But of course this is as far as you see is because you understand it simply as the main character, it is all his point of view. He is the son of James and Lily Potter, a descendant of a Peverell, owner of the invisibility coat, and much much more.

HEDWIG: The most beautiful Snowy Owl that you could ever meet. If you are thinking of getting an owl as a pet please think again because they don't make good pets and are not what you should really be owning unless you are in a magical world or are a Falconer.

HERBOLOGY: This is the study of Plants and their environment. They are toxic and non-toxic, magical and mundane. I love learning about plants, the trouble is the plants don't often like me.

HERMIONE GRANGER: Best witch in her class? Most of the time. There are things I know full well she didn't succeed at such as Quidditch, keeping her mouth shut, music, gobstones, chess and duelling. Otherwise I'm sure she was great.

HEX: Spell that is a major Inconvenience with moderate suffering.

HIPPOCAMPUS: Magical creature similar to a seahorse, but a lot bigger and changes colour depending on the area it comes from.

HIPPOGRIFF: Is a magical creature that is part eagle and part horse. Buckbeak is an example of this type of animal.

HOGESMEADE: This is an all magical village and include shops, bars and a train station. Hogwarts students are permitted to go on trips to Hogsmeade however they are infrequent and they must have a signed parental consent form.

HOGWARTS SCHOOL: Magical School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. If you didn't know that then you are in the wrong place.

HOLYHEAD HARPIES: An all female Quidditch team that Ginny Weasley, now Potter used to play for.

HOOCH: Mme Hooch was the Professor for Flying.

HORKLUMP: Native to Scandinavia a Horklump sort of resembles a mushroom. It is pink-ish with black bristles or spikes. They are not nice to touch smell or come across in any way shape or form.

HUFFLEPUFF: Hopefully some of you belong to this house and I'm sure some of you do. Hufflepuffs are known for being kind and loyal.
