Chapter 8
G is for:
GAUNTS: My ancestors and my link to the founder Salazar Slytherin in the previous chapter.
GEORGE WEASLEY: I had a special bond with George. We don't know how it came about but we became almost instant legiliments. I didn't have the same thing with Fred.
GHOSTS: Spirits that are not of the living
GHOUL: Other spirits that are not of the living and are, in my opinion creepier.
GIANTS: Large creatures of limited intelligence that are not great at either personal hygiene or being loving with others of their kind.
GILLYWEED: A type of algae that once eaten can allow the consumer to grow gills and stay underwater for long periods of time. Harry used this in the second stage of the triwizard tournament.
GINNY WEASLEY: The youngest child, only daughter (and my sister-in-law) of Arthur and Molly Weasley. She was sorted into Gryffindor, played for the Holyhead Harpies and writes for the Daily Prophet. She is married to Harry Potter and has 3 children, James, Albus and Lily.
GNOME: Small almost stone like creatures that are strange, with big heads.
GODFATHER: Many of us have them. Mine is Lucius Malfoy, Harry's was Sirius Black and Teddy's is Harry Potter.
GODRICS HOLLOW: A town that is part magical and part muggle where Harry Potter was born, The Dumbledore's once lived, Bathilda Bagshot died, James and Lily Potter died and the Peverall brothers also came from there. So I supose that I also came from there too.
GRANIAN: This is a type of winged horse and happens to be my patronus.
GRAPHORN: A large beast that is associated with trolls. they can repel most spells as their skin is said to be tougher than that of a dragon.
GRAVEYARD: I don't really want to think about it too much but it seems that graveyards are a big feature. Either in Godrics Hollow or Little Hagleton
GREAT HALL: By this I mean the Great Hall of Hogwarts and there are very few events that I can remember happening here that were actually bad.
1) Cedric's funeral - which I was made to attend.
2) Battle of Hogwarts - which I refused to enter into.
GRIFFIN: A magical creature that is part eagle and part lion. This creature fascinates me every time.
GRINDELWALD: Gellert Grindelwald went to Durmstrang and died at Nurmengard Castle in Austria aged around 115. He was a relative of Bathilda Bagshot and there are all sorts of rumours about his relationship with Albus Dumbledore but we can neither deny or confirm them.
GRINDYLOW: My worst fear. A water dwelling creature that has octopus like tentacles and is horrible.
GRINGOTTS: The wizarding bank ran by goblins in Diagon Alley.
GRYFFINDOR: One of the houses of Hogwarts that was named after Godric Gryffindor.
GYTRASHES: Are dog-like spirit animals in english mythology, with a forked tail and are sensitive to light. I have seen them in woodlands but have never come across them in large numbers.
