M is for:

MACKLED MALACLAW: A magical beast that closely resembles a lobster.

MALADICTUS: A curse that means people can transfigure like a metamorphmagus but eventually will end up as the creature. Known cursed people are Nagini and Astoria Malfoy.

MANDRAKE: A plant that resembles a baby. One of its uses is a potion that un-petrifies people that have been petrified by creatures such as a Basilisk.

MANTICORE: A dangerous creature with the head of a human, a body of a lion and a scorpion's tail. It is therefore capable of human speech.

MCGONNAGALL: Professor McGonagall was my transfiguration teacher and head of Gryffindor. She later became Headmistress of Hogwarts.

MERPEOPLE: People that are half fish and half human. They are known for being able to sing beautifully when you hear them underwater but not above water. Many people find them scary but I owe my life to them as I once fell into the lake and they helped get me out.

METAMORPHMAGUS: A person that is able to transfigure at will. They must be born this way it is not something you can learn.

MINISTRY OF MAGIC: The governing body that rules over each country.

MIRROR OF ERISED: A Mirror that shows a person's true desire.

MOANING MYRTLE: Miss Warren was killed by the Basilisk under Tom Riddle's orders at Hogwarts School in the 1950s in the girl's bathroom. (Hagrid and Aragog were blamed) She has haunted it ever since.

MOKE: A small lizard type animal. Moke skin bags are highly prised because they are able to enlarge and shrink to the size needed.

MOLLY WEASLEY: Mother to 7 children and grandmother to 14!!!

MOONCALF: They come up at night and you have to be careful but mooncalf dung is collected for Herbologists.

MUDBLOOD: A derogatory term for someone who is magical but is born to muggle or non-magical parents.

MUGGLE: A non-magical person.
