Game Is On

Chapter 7
We walked back to the hotel and we found everyone else already in the diner room. They didn't order yet but had already found a comfy table to fit all of us. We sat down at the table and the waiter.
"Now can I get your orders?" he said annoyed and I'm guessing they were waiting for a while.
"Uh yes" Allen said picking up the menu.
We all ordered. I got a salad with avocado slices and baby tomatoes. We all talked about what college we are looking at. I already know which college I was going to but I kinda wanted to wait. It is one of the best colleges ever. I am especially excited because they have amazing art classes. It inspires creativity and has lots of different sports. Some of the group got scholarships to lots of different colleges and Kadin was one of them. He had so many scholarships from so many colleges including scholarships from the same colleges as me, Jessica, Zac, and Carson.
After we all finished eating we decided to spend some time at the indoor swimming pool. We walked to our shared rooms to change and when I was walking down the long hallway, I remembered. Life is pure torture. Life hates me. Life wants to see me suffer. I remember that I had to share this room with Jessica. She walked past me and smiled at me.
Anger rose upon me, but I calmed myself down quickly. Earlier she was confessing to Kadin that she thought I was fake but she is the only one here that is fake. I am not fake but only securely guarded about my past, but she is really the fake one. She can't tell me to my face and she pretends that everything is fine!! Were we ever really, truly friends? Or was it like this all along?
I enter the room and change as fast as I can so that I can hurry out of there. As I reach the door she calls my name.
"Hey Liv can you help me please?"
I will play the same game then. I will pretend that nothing is wrong. I will pretend that I didn't see you kiss Kadin. I will pretend that I didn't hear you call me fake.
"Sure," I said, getting ready to play the game.
I walked into the bathroom where she was changing. She was already changed in her swimsuit. It was a light bubble gum pink two piece with frills. It looked beautiful on her, with her long, dark brown hair flowing down.
"I can't find the towels. Do you know where they are?" she asked sweetly.
I scowled on the inside. Game on.
"They are in the bottom left shelf" I said pointing to the towels that were clearly visible.
"Oh thanks" she said smiling "I'm so blind"
"yeah no problem. by the way you look beautiful in that swimming suit."
"aww thanks, but I think I might change it. You look beautiful in yours too"
Ok clearly this was a lie. I had a dark blue two piece. When we went shopping before, Molly suggested that we all get cute two pieces. I was very uncomfortable about it so I tried to change her mind but Molly was super stubborn unlike Allen who is reasonable and is open to ideas. They tried helping me pick one out but I rejected them all. I then told Katie why I wasn't so keen on the idea. She then got me one that was almost like hers but covered a bit more. It was plain compared to hers, but it covered up a scar that I was very sensitive about.

"WHY ARE YOU BOTH LIKE THIS!?!?!" My dad yelled as I lay by my mother. We stayed were we were no matter the uncomfortable position knowing what he'd do if we move.
He walked to the front door and walked outside. He came in a moment later with a big, fat branch that was outside. I was petrified for what was about to happen. He walked over to me and grabbed me by the hair again. He clutched my hair as I bite down on my lips to try and not scream.
The pain made me want to just die instead of just laying there. He struck me with the stick. It was all bruised and when I looked at it hours later, I could see the blood and splinters. The long slash that the stick made by cutting open my skin, never really healed. My father realized what he did. He yelled at my mother that she was really the one who did this to me. That she didn't stop him. After being in the hospital for a while I was actually happy that I had to go there because it was at least peaceful. The cut had to get stitches. It started barely on the bottom of my stomach and went all the way down to my upper left leg.

The scar throbbed. I flinched as the pain soared through my leg. I just turned to hide my pain from Jessi.
"Are you ok Liv?" she asked. Wow. She would make a great actress someday.
"uhh yeah..yeah I just don't feel so good. I think I might just stay back for a bit." I was planning to just calm myself down. These flashbacks of my past usually didn't happen this often. I would have a few a month but not this many in one day.
"ok" she said as she walked past me and opened the door. She glanced back at me, then walked outside and closed the door.
I changed back into my clothes and remembered that I still had Kadin's sweater with me. I took it off before we went to the park, but I forgot to give it to him. I face planted onto my bed. Nobody will probably care if I stay back. I hear a knock on the hotel door. Hmm maybe I'm wrong. It's probably Kate. I get up and open the door without looking through the peephole thinking it was Kate. I was wrong. It was....
