The Beautiful Nature
Chapter 19
"I love you Liv" Kadin said squeezing my hand.
I looked up at him and stared into his eyes. I wish that my problems would just go away.
"I love you too" I said thinking of how much better my life was now with him in it.
Ever since I met Katie I felt different than the other times when I would move. When I finally told her about my past she was fine with it. "Olivia, I'm the type of person who doesn't care what happened in the past as long as you don't bring it into the clean future." I didn't really get what she said or what she meant by it. Now I feel like I understand. She didn't want me to bring my hurt and pain with me. Not because she didn't want me to spread it, she meant that I should start over a clean slate without my hurt and pain to close me in the past.
I moved closer to Kadin and hugged him.
"I'm glad about my past" I said.
Kadin just looked at me and I could see that he didn't get what I meant.
"If it wasn't for my past, I never would have met anyone in the group" I said and Kadin smiled.
Our food came and we ate silently. Once we finished we headed to the park to watch the green trees flutter in the wind. We sat on a bench and watch some birds fly by singing their song. I closed my eyes and breathed the fresh air. It seemed like forever that I was able to do nothing but enjoy nature's gift. Kadin enjoyed the peace of nature as well.
I sat alone, leaning against a huge tree in the early spring. It was the weekend and I wanted to get out of my small apartment that I was living in. I planned to move again maybe in a year or so, though I am being honest when I say that I'm going to miss Katie. She seemed to enjoy our little homework sessions and I did too. I sighed knowing that when I move I'm just going to close everyone off again. I heard someone breathe in deeply the fresh air. I hadn't noticed that anyone else came to this little park. It was always empty and I never saw anyone here.
I turned to see who was here and I was surprised to see Kadin Cruz. I never really talked to anyone else besides Katie and I'm sure that her friends wouldn't want to talk to me as well. I stood up and started to grab my bag.
"Oh hi I didn't think that anyone came here other than me" he said now spotting me.
I just looked at the ground. I didn't like to talk to much people.
"Olivia right?" he said and I finally looked up.
He seemed genuine like Katie was. I was still hesitant to talk with him even if he seemed nice and kind and kinda cute... I need to snap out of it. I just nodded my head yes.
"Kadin Cruz" he said smiling at me.
I felt kind of weird not like I was sick but a tingling feeling all around. I don't know why I did but I smiled back. We sat by the huge tree and heard the birds and the rustle of leaves. We talked a little bit and it felt nice to have another person to talk to. I still love to talk with Katie but I guess it wouldn't be bad to spend time with Kadin as well.
That's when we got close and that's when I fell in love. I now know that that moment that we shared is when we started to grow feelings which would eventually lead us to where we are right now. I must have gone too quiet because Kadin looked over at me.
"Liv are you ok." he said and I turned to face him.
I leaned my head on his shoulder.
"yeah" I sighed happily.
He leaned his head onto mine and held my hand. We sat there just enjoying the nature around us. It felt nice and peaceful. I remember when we used to just sit by the huge tree no matter the weather because we both loved nature in every weather. Snow, rain, cloudy, and windy.
Kadin looked at his phone after it started to ring. He stood up and answered and started to walk down the path. He turned to me really quick and mouthed "I'll be right back." I smiled as he turned away again and walked again. I just looked up at the clouds and watched as the time passed and the sky grew darker. It was only a few minutes but it grew dark fast.
When I finally saw him walking back after 17 minutes I raced to him. He hugged me back.
"What took so long?" I asked as we started to walk to the hotel.
He rubbed the back of his neck and looked at the ground.
"..nothing.." he said avoiding the question.
