I Love You

Chapter 18
We got on the subject of when Allen and Katie started to have feelings for each other. I already knew that Kate liked Allen since freshman year in high school but I didn't know that Allen started to catch feelings for her in 8th grade.
"Kadin did you know that Liv caught feelings for you wh-" Katie began but I cut her off by trying to change the subject to college.
Kadin leaned closer to me in curiosity, Katie had a huge grin on her face, Allen smiled at Kate, and I just glanced around the room in desperation to escape embarrassment.
"Oh what was that Kate, I didn't hear that last part" Kadin said and I covered my face with a pillow.
"Only that Liv told me once that she started to catch feelings for you when we were sophomores and you guys got close." she said and I felt embarrassed that Kadin found out like this.
Kadin took the pillow away from me so that I could show my face but I covered my face up with my hands. He laughed at how I was acting. Katie laughed too. I finally showed my face.
"Liv don't be embarrassed because Kadin started liking you when-" Allen started to say but Kadin tackled him to make sure he wouldn't finish.
Katie laughed at how Kadin was making sure that Allen didn't tell anyone. I smiled at them. Once Allen stopped trying to break free, Kadin got off him and sat back down on the bed. We all laughed. Kadin changed the subject fast and we all just started to talk about random things. They all mostly talked but I didn't really have anything to say. They were talking about when they were kids and the fun summers they had and the holiday parties they went to . I just didn't have anything like that until I met them so they pretty much know everything that has happened. I sighed quietly and leaned my head onto Kadin's shoulder. He smiled at me and I smiled back. He messed with my hair as Katie and Allen started to talk about old pets that they used to have.
I could see a glint of worry in Kadin's eyes and I held onto his hand firmly.
"I love you" I whispered to Kadin and that made him smile.
"I love you too" he whispered and he squeezed my hand.
Katie and Allen finally realized that they were the only ones talking. Katie tried to hold in her laughter by covering it up with a fake cough. We pulled apart and both blushed. Katie gave me the "awwwww" look and that made me blush deeper. Kadin rubbed the back of his neck and Allen bursted out laughing. I tried to hide my face from Katie and Allen by looking down.
"...so...uh...I was thinking that...maybe..if you guys want to as well...we all could go on a...double date?" Katie said still trying to hold back laughter.
I looked at Kadin to see what he thought about the idea and he looked at me. I slightly shrugged at him.
"..sure..I guess" Kadin said still thinking about it.
We just talked about random things again then we decided to head to dinner. When we got there it was very crowded so we decided to just split up and eat separately. Katie went with Allen and I stuck with Kadin. I saw Kate and Allen disappear in the crowd of people that surrounded us. Kadin held my hand firmly and started to move through the crowd as well. I bumped into people and almost tripped over someone. I tried to dodge people and held Kadin's hand tight because I didn't want to lose him in this big crowd. We finally got away into an empty hall.
Why was it so crowded in there? This hotel never was full of people. Was there a celebration or something? I just forgot about it as we left the hotel. We started to walk towards the busy streets where all the restaurants were at. We headed into one and sat down at an empty table. I sat by Kadin and we looked at the menus. We ordered and waited in silence.
I thought back to this morning and why everyone wasn't at the hotel. Why did they leave me out of this? I sighed and Kadin looked over at me. He pulled me closer to him and I hugged him.
"What's wrong?" he whispered to me as he moved my hair out of my face.
I honestly didn't know what was right. My life has been so wrong and filled with wrong that I didn't know how to tell what was right in my life. I didn't know what wasn't ruined or what wasn't upside down in my life.
"I don't know" I said leaning my head on his shoulder.
"Is it about this morning?" he asked holding my hand.
I don't know. I mean I am kind of left out a lot and now it just felt like they didn't even want me a part of the group anymore. I also felt uneasy about my father. I haven't said that he was my father since I ran away. I sighed. Why was he chasing after me now? I am old enough to live on my own and not with them. Why would he want me back now after all those years that he hurt me and he finally got rid of me. I was never his daughter and he isn't my father.
"I love you Liv" Kadin said squeezing my hand.
