The morning of the day to go to Hogwarts I am rushing to go over what I have packed and make sure I have gotten all of my books from Diagon Alley. I had just enough money in my bank to buy everything I needed. I bought an owl and it is a snowy owl which I named Cara.

"Okay I have everything, I'd better get to the train station!" I say

My mum and dad drive me to the station and the next thing I know I am running through the wall to platform nine and three-quarters. Fear runs through me as I am sure I will not make it, but in a blink I am seeing the Hogwarts Express.

I laugh with relief and my parents come running through the wall with shocked looks on their faces. I see Aidan and push my trolley towards him. Then we get on the Hogwarts Express and I wave goodbye to my parents as slowly the train starts moving and my parents get smaller and smaller. I change into my robes as soon as we're on the train so I don't have to worry about it later. Eventually the food cart comes by and I get 2 chocolate frogs and share one with Aidan.

"My chocolate frog card is Dumbledore!" I say.

"I can't wait to see him in person!" Aidan says

"I heard that Dumbledore is the only person Voldemort is afraid of." I say

"Yeah, that's cool." He says but he sounds like he is hiding something he knows about Voldemort.

I was about to ask him why he was acting like that when a girl with short, black hair and perfectly straight teeth opens the door to the room and asks if she could sit with us because some mean kids kicked her out of hers.

"Sure!" I say and she tells me and Aidan her name is Tris and she was raised in a wizard family. I told her about me and introduced Aidan to her. She tells me she thinks we look cute together.

Me and Aidan both blush a deep red color.

"We will be at Hogwarts in approximately 10 minutes." says a voice on the overhead speaker.

We all get ready and when the train stops we step out on the platform and hear a loud voice saying "Firs' years come on over here now!" The person we walk to is like a small giant. His hands are the size of my head and he is 20 times taller than everyone here. "My name is Hagrid" the giant says. "Hi Hagrid!" Tris says. Then we start running towards the castle. We have to run because 1 step Hagrid takes is 4 steps for us. When the castle comes to view we all say "ooh" and "ahh". I see a big lake that we have to row across. "3 people to a boat!" Hagrid says as he takes a boat for himself. (He takes up the whole boat). Me, Aidan, and Tris take a boat and when we reach the castle a teacher with a strict face and a tight bun in her hair comes and takes us to the Great Hall. She stops at the door and introduces herself "My name is Minerva Mcgonall and you are to pronounce my name as proffessor Mcgonall." She says.

"She seems strict" I whisper to Tris.

"Yeah" Tris says with a look of awe and a little fear in her face.

She opens the doors to the Great Hall and I see 4 tables, Slytherin table, hufflepuff, ravenclaw, and Gryffindor.

There is floating candles and a starry sky on the ceiling. It's almost as if there is no ceiling, I say to myself. At the end of the huge room there is a table and I see a hat in the center and Dumbledore stands next to it. I gap at his long beard and silver hair. 

"He seems wonderful already!" Aidan says

I look at the table behind Dumbledore and see a bunch of teachers but stop at a certain teacher who looks my way and gives me a dirty look. I grab my rib and double over in pain. 

"Are you okay?!" Tris and Aidan say, helping me to my feet.

"Thanks, and I think the teacher sitting all the way to the right of the table made me have that spasm of pain." I say my rib tingling.

Tris opened her mouth to ask why but was cut off as Dumbledore held up his hands for silence and introduced the sorting hat to us. The sorting hat looked old and was frayed at the sides. Then it started singing! The first years started gasping at it in shock. It sang about all of the tables. "Gryffindor, brave at heart, daring, nerve, and chivalry. Hufflepuff, just, loyal, patient, and true. Ravenclaw, wise, ready minded, of wit, learning. Slytherin, cunning, achievementfull, make real friends! So put me on, don't be afraid, all I do is help you choose your house." The hat sang

I think Gryffindor would be great, I say to myself.

The names went for a little while before Aidan was up. He sat for 1 second before the hat shouted "GRYFFINDOR". A look of relief went over his face as he went to sit down with the roaring and cheering Gryffindors.

When my name was called I quickly ran to the sorting hat and put it on my head it was talking in my ear and said "You are very wise, maybe you should be in Ravenclaw? I whisper "no, please no". "Are you sure?" The hat says

"Very sure" I whisper back. "Okay then better be GRYFFINDOR!" It shouts. I take the hat off and a flush of relief came over me. The Gryffindors cheer and howl. I sit next to Aidan and wait for Tris' turn. When it is her turn she sits with the sorting hat on her head with no look of worry on her face. "GRYFFINDOR" the hat yells and me and Aidan stand up and cheer loudly than any other Gryffindor. She struts over and plops herself down as casually as can be and says "I'm starving". "Me too" me and Aidan say at the same time. We start laughing but then we quiet down to hear the other people get sorted. When that is finished Dumbledore stands and the great hall is suddenly silent

"Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts! Before we begin our feast, I would like to say a few words. Here they are: Craca Okkey Evin Tweak! "Thanks" He sat back down and everyone starts cheering. I start giggling but hide my laugh with my hand and start cheering when I look at the dishes in front of me i see so much food all I can do is stare at it in awe. A Gryffindor perfect asks me "You've never seen so much food before have you?" "Well, no" I say. She laughs (jokingly) and introduces herself. "My name is Marlene." She says and I shake her hand. "Hi my name is Kenzie." I say. "This is Tris and Aidan" I say as I introduce my boyfriend and new friend. She and another perfect start talking so I start to eat. There is roast beef, roast chicken, pork chops, sausages, bacon, steak, potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, peas, carrots, gravy, ketchup, and mints. I help myself to a small portion of everything and when the feast is over I am so full and sleepy. The perfects lead us to the Gryffindor common room and I go to the girl dorms with Tris, say bye to Aidan, and  when we get to the dorm our trunks and animals are already there. I give my owl Cara a little food and send her to the owlery. I get into my pajamas and as soon as my head hits the pillow I am asleep.
