The Weasley's House

Chapter 3
For a second Adelaide could not breathe, and shapes and colours were whirling around her, and then suddenly she was standing on a dirt road. She had side-apparated successfully.
"Where are we?" asked Adelaide breathlessly.
"At my house," said Ron, grinning at her.

There was a bang and someone shrieked. A plump woman with red hair and blue twinkling eyes ran toward Ron and hugged him tight.
"Geroff," said Ron, his voice muffled.
"Oh, oh oh! I thought something bad had happened to you -"
"Like getting splinched?" suggested Ron.
"Oh - yes!" said the woman, and hugged her son again.
"See, I told you," said Ron, rolling his eyes and pushing himself away from his mother.

Ron's mother hugged Harry and Hermione and then she stood still suddenly, and Adelaide could tell, without looking at her that she was staring at her. "Who's this?" she finally asked, still staring at Adelaide.
"The girl that we were supposed to pick up, mum. Brains!" He rolled his eyes and walked towards the house.
"Ahhh, yes!" Mrs Weasley looked down at me kindly, and I looked up at her. "Come in, come in! Your name is Adelaide - am I right?"
"Yes," Adelaide said, and she smiled back at her. "Adelaide Dursley - I mean, Adelaide Potter." She slowly looked back down at the ground, feeling guilty. She would not be back at her "home" for Petunia's birthday.
Harry took Adelaide's hand and asked quietly, "Feeling sad? I know what that feels like."
Adelaide looked up and smiled at him. "Yeah, I guess."

They walked towards the house, and that was when Adelaide noticed it properly. The house was very tall and leaning on one side, and lots of little windows. There was also a garage, with a blue old-fashioned car in it. The garage was filled with buckets of paints and paint-brushes, and lots of buckets and rags.
Adelaide and Harry reached the front door, and Mrs Weasley pulled it open.
The house was wonderful. orange and red carpets were strewn on the ground, and ornaments hung from the ceiling, and little cute pots and pans hung against the wall. There was red sofas, and someone was sitting on it. A red-headed man, like around in his 20s, or 30s. He looked around, saw me, and surprise glinted in his eyes.

"Who is this?" he finally spoke.
"Adelaide," said Mrs Weasley briskly. "Harry's sister!" Mrs Weasley added to me in a whisper, "That's Charlie, by the way. My son."
"Ohh," I nodded my head and smiled at Charlie.
Charlie shook his hair out of his eyes, and stared at me. "I can't still believe that that is actually Potter's sister," he said quietly, his mouth slightly open.

"My name's Harry," said Harry from the other side of the room.
Charlie chuckled then reached across to grab some papers. "Dragon escaped. I better get back to work."
"But it's the holidays, Charlie!" said Mrs Weasley.
"I HAVE to leave tomorrow. This is urgent, mum."
"I know, but I want you to stay here. Besides, we were -"
"Enough, mum. I'm going tomorrow." Charlie stood up and walked out of the room.

"Shouldn't talk to his mother like that - naughty boy-"
"Man, mum. He's a man, mum," said a voice from above.
Adelaide looked up to see Ron and next to him, a red-headed teenager girl, about 18 years old.

"Ginny!" said Harry, grinning.
"Harry." The red-headed girl came down the stairs, and smiled at him. Then she noticed Adelaide.
"She's my sister," said Harry before Ginny could ask.
Ginny did not say anything, but smiled at Adelaide. "My name is Ginny Weasley, brother to Ron-" she waved her hand, "and all the other red-head boys."

Adelaide smiled and said, "And I'm Adelaide. Adelaide Potter."
Ginny grinned then hugged Harry.
"You're girlfriend and boyfriend," said Adelaide. "Weird."
"And yuck!" added Ron.
Ginny blushed and Harry rolled his eyes. "You're boyfriend with Hermione," said Harry.

"Shut up!" Adelaide heard Hermione call from, apparently, Ginny's room.
Another red-headed boy, with long red hair, came into the room. Adelaide thought he looked pretty cool. He had a black leather jacket on, with grey blue jeans. He smiled at Adelaide and Adelaide smiled back.

"That's Bill," whispered Ginny. "He's pretty cool, huh?"
Adelaide nodded.
Bill sat down on the sofa, and said to Adelaide, "Hi, Adelaide." He smiled, then called, "Charlie? Charlie? Hey, Charlie!"
"What?"
"Have you seen the paper? About the escaped dragon?"
"Yes." Charlie rubbed his eyes in frustration, and sat down on one of the sofas.
"Hey, hey. You should have a rest, and deal with it tomorrow," said Bill kindly.
"I'm leaving tomorrow," said Charlie. He stood up, and went outside.

"Anyway, um," said Ginny, "You're sharing a room with me and Hermione."
Adelaide smiled.
"But first we're going to have dinner," added Ginny.
And that was when Adelaide noticed how hungry she was.
