Stan Uris is just a normal thirteen year old boy. Or perhaps maybe not so normal after he begins to think differently about his best friend Bill. He soon finds he doesn't like to think of him as a friend. Maybe something a bit closer?- he thinks. But would Bill think the same of him? There’s another problem going on too. Something is taking kids. Eating them. Gobbling them up, if the Loser’s suspicions are correct. Stan is not sure if he could face It like Bill could, but if he fell back and hid in the shadows, he would be seen as a coward. A coward like him could never win Bill over.
