House Pride - Ravenclaw: Part 1
We all know Ravenclaws as being intelligent and wise. Though this is true, Ravenclaw is not a very known house in the Harry Potter series. So, what do we really know about Ravenclaws? Ravenclaw house was founded by Rowena Ravenclaw in 993. Ravenclaw’s colors are blue and bronze because it represents the sky. The whole goal was for the colors to be about air because Ravenclaw corresponds with the element of air. Fun fact, Ravenclaw’s hourglass for house points contains blue sapphires. Often Ravenclaws are known as hard working and intelligent students.
Ravenclaws also are very curious about the world around them and tend to pay attention to the world. One good example of a Ravenclaw student would be Luna Lovegood. Luna was always paying attention to the world and seemed to see things no one else saw. They are also known for welcoming and encouraging creativity, eccentricity, and individuality and being very accepting.
According to Germma Farly, a Slytherin prefect, Ravenclaws can become so competitive when it comes to academics that they are known to stab each other in the back. Even though at first, you might think Ravenclaws had no rivalry with the houses, but they do have some rivalry with the other houses in Quidditch. Ravenclaws tend to side with Gryffindors with the rivalry against Slytherins. However, most Ravenclaws sided with Cedric Diggory instead of Harry Potter during the Triwizard Tournament. They also believed that Harry Potter cheated his way into the tournament. There were also a lot of Ravenclaws that fought alongside Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors in the Battle of Hogwarts.
