To Save a Life is a story about Evelyn and her friend, who is in danger of dying, but Evelyn is determined to help her best friend. So she goes on to the adventure, where there is a certain plant that will help her friend. So Evelyn boldly go's into the Forbidden Forest - she won't give up till she has found the plant.

The Other Side
Chapter 9
Evelyn and James had been walking for a long time, and Evelyn was sure that they were almost to the other side of the forest. James was limping a bit, but he was OK. He was thinking about when they would get back to Hogwarts Castle, and they could have a delicious meal at Hogwarts. Evelyn was looking nervously down at the ground. What if something else attacked them? It was certainly dangerous here. She was afraid that a wizard or witch would attack them, and they would be more clever than creatures. Yes, witches and wizards were more dangerous, especially if they were Death Eaters. But why would Death Eaters be lingering around in the Forbidden Forest? It was so unlikely, that Evelyn laughed quietly out loud. She changed her thoughts to happier ones. They would (well, maybe) get the plant and bring it back to the castle. They would be very fast this time, no stopping for rests, unless James really needed too, but he was improving well, and get back to the castle! She was just reassuring herself, she was really worrying. Then suddenly Evelyn realised something. The Professors - the teachers - of course they would be coming to look for them. Probably the whole school knew they had disappeared and Madam Pomfrey obviously, probably, knew that she had gone into the Forbidden Forest to find the plant. She would have told the teachers and Headmistress, and they instantly would have begun to search for them. Maybe they weren't far behind! But Evelyn didn't want to wait and see if they did come. The teachers, (especially the Headmistress) would not let them go to the other side of the wood by themselves, even to save a life. Obviously they would want to help, but by the time they had all got ready to go, Lisa already would have, probably... Evelyn couldn't bear to think of the thought. They kept walking rapidly together, getting nearer and nearer to the other side of the Forest.
"Maybe we should just..." James started to say, but glanced at Evelyn, who immediately retorted, "No James! We can't! We are so near to the other side - let's just keep going. I'm sorry if you're sore, but we really need to help Lisa before it's too late."
James nodded solemnly. "OK."
Evelyn managed to smile and say, "Thanks." They continued walking, well, almost running. It became darker and darker. Evelyn was about to give up and say, "Let's just camp, then," when she saw a light. It was like the light of the moon, and with delight, Evelyn saw that they were so near to the other side. She eagerly ran to the end, and gasped. They had made it. Even before she could shout joyfully to James, who was still in the Forest, "We've done it!" someone grabbed her from behind and closed their hand over her mouth. She struggled desperately, and she saw James' eyes widen when he saw who was holding her. But then someone grabbed him too, from behind, and the person holding James, also clapped a hand over James' mouth. The person who was holding James was a man, dressed in black with a black leather coat and wearing a mask. With horror, Evelyn realised that he was a Death Eater, and the person who was holding her was too! Exactly what she had feared had happened! Suddenly someone hit Evelyn hard on the head, and everything went black.
