An Argument
Chapter 4
Evelyn had made her decision. She would pack her bag, and set off into the Forbidden Forest, alone. Nope, James would not come. She didn't want him to come. She didn't want anyone else to get into danger. Evelyn pulled out her wand. She would practice the Stunning Spell, the Disarming Spell, and some hexes because some monster of human might attack her. She would start with the Stunning Spell. "Okay... Stupefy!" A red light burst out from her wand and hit the lamp, which shattered. She was good at that spell. "Reparo," she muttered, and instantly the broken lamp was mended. She would do it one more time, and then practice the Disarming Spell. "Stupefy!" she shouted, and the spell went flying across the room, but at that exact moment, the door opened and James walked inside! The spell missed him by inches.
"Evelyn! What are you doing?" asked James, rubbing his head, for it had hit the door hard.
"Um, practising spells," said Evelyn, not making eye contact with him.
James sighed. "Evelyn, you're up to something, and I think I know what you're going to do," he said. "You're going to go to the other side of the Forbidden Forest, and try to get that stupid plant."
"It's not stupid! It's going to make my friend survive!" Evelyn said angrily. "James, go away!"
"No, actually! If you're going to go, I'm going to go!"
"Well, I won't let you -"
"You can't stop me. And plus, I'm older!"
"Oh, well, James, being older doesn't matter, ok? I want you to stay here!"
"I want to come because I don't want you to get hurt!"
Evelyn looked up at James. Oh, he is such a good friend, she thought, he is! I just don't want him to get in danger, as well. She felt bad when she said, "Please, James. I have to do this alone."
James stared at her for a moment, then walked out of the common room, and left her alone.
