Evelyn regained consciousness the next day. She woke up, and looked around. To her horror, she saw that she was in a cell. She was in jail. Obviously, the Death Eaters had put her in there. And James! Where was James. Frantically she called, "James!"
Instantly a muffled answer was heard. "Evelyn! Is that you?" Thankfully it was James, and she could talk to him through the wall, for the walls were not thick at all.
"How do we get out of here?" said Evelyn desperately. Her head was spinning, she was so tired, she had got any sleep for one whole day, except till now, but that hadn't really been sleep.
"I don't know! I hate those Death Eaters, they're so horrible! Why do you think they were out here? And why did they cap-"
"Shut up! Just shut up!" said a gruff voice. "I'm sick of having people talking horribly about us Death Eaters and you're not supposed to be talking to each other anyway! Shut up!"
Alarmed, Evelyn turned to see a Death Eater who had his mask off. He had a little beard, was very fat with yellow teeth and was holding his wand, looking very grumpy. Evelyn did not speak again. He didn't look like the type of person you should cross with.
Suddenly another voice spoke. "Gregory, move out of the way, and let them out of their cells." Evelyn looked up to see a woman with black clothes on and her mask was off too. She had slightly reddish hair, with dark glaring eyes. "Get up, Mud-blood," she snarled. Evelyn didn't want to obey her, but she felt like she needed too, so she stood up. Gregory unlocked her cell and James. James walked out, looking angry and dirty. Evelyn felt like she was too.
The woman pushed her forwards and Evelyn stumbled, and fell to the ground. Her lip began to bleed. James began to retort, but Evelyn quickly said, "shh, James," and he fell silent.
A voice came out of nowhere, saying, "Kill the mud-blood and let me talk to the Pure-blood."
Evelyn was terrified. She was a muggle-born, about to be killed.
"No!" shouted James, and he struggled harder against Gregory's fat arms.
Evelyn felt like she was in a dream when she said, "No, James. Just go..."
"NO!!" James thrashed harder and harder, but he could not get out of Gregory's clutch. He was led away, to a room. Evelyn, terrified, watched him go.
