Chapter 1
So I have, so far, done books that represent, me and my family during a period of our lives which marks out our “40s”. In the first book you can read about my father Tom Marvolo Riddle the Slytherin and his journey to Hogwarts. Later on you have my mother Severina Snape and Severus Snape getting sorted and going through the same process, one to Gryffindor the other to Slytherin. Due to the age difference my fa-ther started school in 1938 my mother in 1958 and my uncle in 1960.
Tom Marvolo Riddle, when he was 40 worked at Borgin and Burkes. Having been born in 1926 this meant that from 1966 onwards he worked at the shop “Borgin and Burkes” and rented a house in Knockturn Al-ley. While working at Borgin and Burkes, Riddle befriended Hepzibah. She showed Riddle her two most valuable treasures: his ancestor's locket and her ancestor's cup. Tom's eyes flashed red with greed and ava-rice upon seeing these objects, seeing the locket to be rightfully his as Slytherin's heir and the cup as a re-minder of Hogwarts, as well as a priceless artefact. Riddle disappeared for ten long years. He slipped deeper into the Dark Arts, travelled extensively, consorted with disreputable people, began to become dis-torted in appearance and lose his handsomeness due to splitting his soul so many times, and began to use the alias "Lord Voldemort" openly.
He also severed contact with Slughorn, who became upset for not liv-ing up to the Potions Master's employment offers. During his 30s, which you must remember was the 1960s he continued working in the shop called Borgin and Burkes, a place I am sure you know, in Knock-turn Alley and close to where I currently reside. It is during this time that his “rise” began, with the murder of various people including Hepzibah Smith. She was the owner and descendant of Hufflepuff and if is through her murder that he was able to create the Horcrux of the Hufflepuff cup. It is during this time that he started to push the boundaries of magic.
Severina Snape never made it to her forties, only making it to her twenties, killed by Lucius Malfoy at Spinners End. Her brother Severus also never made it to his forties. He died at the Battle of Hogwarts at the age of thirty-eight surrounded by loved ones, killed by Voldemort. Charlie Weasley was born on the 12 Dec 1972, which makes him 47 years old, 11 months, 4 weeks and 1 day old. In his forties he has fathered 2 children (Severina Weasley and Bertie Weasley) and cared for one other child (Delphini Diggory aka my half-sister). He continues his work as a dragonologist and continues his work with care of magical creatures and the Ministry of Magic.
Professor Albus Dumbledore worked on many projects throughout his time. This included work with the deathly hallows along with Gellert Grindelwald and starting work at the School of Hogwarts. as Professor of transfiguration and later as Professor of Defence against the Dark Arts. It seems that our forties really are a time of great expansion and development. If you are going to "become something" then this is the time to do it.
Finally, myself. I have now reached the age of 43. I have given birth to 2 children, raised my half-sister, educated them and sent the eldest to Hogwarts. I am back in England working, and I continue to teach the students at Hogwarts. I am head of Gryffindor and head of the transfiguration community. My subjects in-clude: Potions, Defence against the dark arts and Transfiguration. I also dabble with care of magical crea-tures from time to time and spend much of my time working in the Auror office or department of myster-ies. Over the years I have been interviewed by various people and instigated the capturing and imprison-ment in Azkaban of notable people that have included my own family members.
